An old postcard bought at a flea market and a charming place set on the crest of a solfatara. Overlapping layers were created from the scene to define its three-dimensional effect: the first layer encompasses the characters and the edge of the solfatara, the second the water vapor and the mountain in the background. The gas produced by the hydrothermal spring gradually rises from the bottom of the crater until it completely saturates the environment with smoke and a deafening noise, gradually causing the characters and the surrounding landscape to disappear, saving only the imperfections and signs of time imprinted on the original postcard. The volcanic origin of the sulfatara is related to the deep source of the Fiora River (also of volcanic origin). Hydrogeological processes, wherever they occur on earth, generate resources that are renewed in a constant process, thus also nourishing time, which even a photo imprinted on a postcard can never stop. The video was designed to be projected on the raw concrete cladding of the vaulted wall inside the tunnel, where the percolations of water dripping from the mountain and the noise of the current flowing along the first channels of the source, merge with the smoke and the thunderous noise of the sulfatara.
